Rain Expected, With Storms and Heavy Winds Increasing Throughout the Week

PHNOM PENH: In the coming week, Cambodia will see the effects of a low pressure system coming in from China, followed by the same phenomenon coming from the eastern Pacific and the southwest monsoon, causing light-to moderate rains mixed with thunderstorms.

While the next few days will see rain, the weather is expected to intensify with storms starting Saturday, July 15. According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, effects from the low pressure system will cause light to moderate rainfall in the central lowlands and the highlands from July 12-14, while July 15-18 will see light rainfall mixed with thunderstorms and heavy winds.

Coastal areas can expect the same weather patterns and are warned of strong winds and high waves at sea. The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology advised residents to be vigilant against possible natural phenomena.
